SDG 2 - Zero Hunger
The Impact Project
End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
Brie O’Sullivan – Medical Drone Researcher
Brie’s work using drones to deliver nutritional and medical supplies to remote communities in sub-Saharan Africa and northern Canada directly addresses malnutrition and food insecurity. Her research has already saved lives, including children suffering from severe malnutrition, making her work a powerful example of innovation supporting SDG 2.
Tima Bansal – Sustainability and Strategy Expert
Through Innovation North, Tima collaborates with industries—including agriculture—to promote sustainable practices. Her work on improving soil health and developing sustainable business models supports long-term food security and environmental stewardship.
Zola Ncube – HIV/AIDS Health-Care Advocate
Zola Ncube's research explores the challenges faced by young health-care workers living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa, emphasizing food insecurity, stigma, and the need for nutritional and mental health support.
Alissa Centivany – Right to Repair Advocate
Alissa’s advocacy for the Right to Repair includes agricultural equipment, empowering farmers to maintain their tools and reduce costs. This supports sustainable agriculture and food production, contributing to SDG 2.
Abe Oudshoorn – Homelessness Researcher
Abe’s global work on homelessness advocates for adequate housing as a fundamental human right. Because homelessness and food insecurity are closely interconnected, his efforts to influence policy and secure greater recognition of homelessness within the SDGs also contribute to addressing hunger and improving access to reliable, nutritious food for vulnerable populations.
Arun Jentrick – Researcher on Women-Led Households
Arun’s work in Sri Lanka highlights the economic and social challenges faced by women-led households, many of which include food insecurity. His research supports policy reform that could improve access to food and resources for vulnerable families.
